PE, Health and Wellbeing

The Physical Education department at Pontypridd High School consists of four members of staff who are passionate about their subject and enthusiastic about the impact it has on pupils' learning and development. While committed to our subject we are keen to embrace new challenges and welcome whole-school responsibilities and liaisons with the wider teaching community.

We are a motivated, forward thinking department building strong relationships with our pupils and strive to deliver our subject in innovative ways.

Years 7, 8 and 9 

In Years 7-9, pupils are taught in paired registration groups and are taught in single sex classes. All pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 receive two, one-hour Physical Education lessons a week, covering a broad range of activities from the National Curriculum.

Years 10 and 11 Compulsory 

In Years 10 and 11 all pupils receive one, one hour lesson each week. Pupils are offered a wide range of activities to participate in.
