Letter from the Head of School (19th Jan)

Letter from the Head of School - Mrs Kayleigh Oliver

Prynhawn da.

I hope everyone has had a good week and is looking forward to a well-deserved weekend. This week in school we have had, yet again some fantastic work taking place across the school. Mrs Thomas, Welsh, would like to mention that 9K and 8K have sat Welsh assessments over the past week. Mrs Thomas has said that the behaviour and attitude of the pupils present in class has been excellent. The pupils showed so much maturity and respect for their peers and the assessment. Da Iawn. Mr Porter, Maths, has asked me to mention Jack John. Jack has worked very well in class and has been awarded pupil of the lesson. Excellent effort, well done Jack.

This week Daniel Venn in Year 9 has achieved an excellent 41 positive points, Charlie Daly in Year 7 has achieved 40 achievement points, Nesi Ewesor in Year 8 has secured 29 achievement points, Nathan Osazuwa-Imade in Year 11 has achieved 23 points and Iwonka Kochanowska in Year 10 has achieved 22 positive points.

Next week we have exciting sessions taking place across the school. On Monday we have a group of Year 10 pupils working with the Royal Navy on the ‘Ready, Steady, Cook task’. We also have a Dental Epidemiology Programme taking place with a group of a Year 7 pupils. Year 11 Pupils are taking part in their Science practical examinations throughout next week, I wish to take this opportunity to wish all pupils good luck. Next Friday we have pupils from Year 7 through to Year 11 taking part in a basketball competition at Ysgol Garth Olwg.

As always, I must emphasise the importance of good school attendance. I am very pleased to say we have had 537 pupils this week who have achieved 100% attendance. Well done, and please keep this up. It would be great to get this number even higher in coming weeks.

As always, thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Kayleigh Oliver
