Transition To Year 12

Students continuing their education at Pontypridd High School will be supported thoughout their transition into Year 12.

Returning to Sixth Form means that we can advise you with regards to the appropriate courses to take, because from the very first day, we:

  • Will know what you are capable of achieving
  • Will know how you like to work
  • Will form a 'partnership' between you, your parents and the school
  • Will track, monitor, report and support you every step of the way

Step 1

In the Spring term students indicate the subjects that they are likely to choose in Year 12.

Step 2

The New Year 12 Parents Evening takes place early in the Summer Term. Here students and parents are able to discuss with staff the options to study as part of the curriculum next year.

The 'Provisional Options' menu for Pontypridd Learning Partnership Sixth Form will be handed out.. This should  be read carefully and up 4 options only from the subject groups at the correct level should be chosen.

Step 3

In the Summer Term, the 'Final Options' menu is produced and sent to all students ready for the GCSE results and their return to the Sixth Form in September.

If you have queries, then do not hesitate to speak to Mr. Stephen Diehl at the Year 12 Evening or contact him at school.
