Parent Governor Vacancy

The Governing Body of Pontypridd High School has, with effect from November 2018, a vacancy for a parent governor and is looking for parent/carer who is interested in this role.

A parent governor is a person with parental responsibility for a pupil attending our school.

The role of governor is an important one – Governing Bodies are responsible for a variety of functions connected with the effective running of the school, including curriculum, budgeting, staffing matters and the school environment itself. You will be supported in these duties by other experienced members of the Governing Body, the Headteacher and the Governor Support Officer.

The recent announcement and publication of proposals for school reorganisation in the Pontypridd area places new significance on the role of our Governing Body and the weeks and months ahead of us will be a very important time for governors, staff and pupils.

You will find more information about the role of a parent governor on the attached form which needs to be completed and handed in to Pupil Services by Wednesday 7th November if you would like to nominate yourself. Alternatively, completed forms can be emailed to Nicki Pickens on pickensn@pontyhigh.co.uk.

The form will also be available on our School website. Copies will also be sent home this week.

If you would like more information please contact Miss Nicki Pickens at the school.
