Parent / Carer Governor Vacancy

We are fortunate to have a very experienced and supportive Governing Body, with all governors very keen to ensure that everyone has the entitlement and opportunity to be the best they can, students and staff alike. Governors give their time freely to ensure all aspects of our work are monitored and discussed, so that decisions can be made and action taken.

As part of our Governing Body we have five parent / carer governors. We are very appreciative of the time they have given to our school but after 4 years ‘in office’ we must give the opportunity for other parents or carers to apply for this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Governing Body and be a part of our team. There is always a great deal to achieve in schools and there are also many challenges, the present situation related to Covid-19 being an obvious case in point. More recently there has also been the decision making related to School reorganisation, and as we go forward so there will be all the planning linked to a new Wales Curriculum for 2022, new GCSE specifications and regulations linked to Additional Learning Needs. In addition we are always monitoring the quality of learning in our classrooms and allocating funding through our school budget to recruit the staff and maintain a safe school site which offers the best learning provision.

If you wish to be considered for election as one of our parent / carer governors, please submit the following information to the school by 10am on Wednesday, 18th November 2020. (Any applications received after this date will not be taken into account).

1. Your Name

2. Address

3. Telephone / Contact number

4. Your child’s name and year group

In addition to the information above, you must also submit a short statement of no more than 100 words which will be included in the ballot form. A ballot will take place amongst all parents / carers if we have more applications than vacancies. Please note if you exceed the word limit, only the first 100 words will be included on the ballot form. Please sign and date the information you submit to the school.
