Minister for Education and Skills Visits PHS

Today Pontypridd High School was privileged to receive a visit from the Minister for Education and Skills Wales. Huw Lewis AM has served a diverse range of roles since his first election to the Welsh Assembly in 1999. As Minister for Education and Skills, he is responsible for many aspects of school life, from funding to the school curriculum. This visit has allowed the school to showcase its dedication to learning and the excellent facilities our school has to offer, such as the new Welsh Baccalaureate Computer Suite.

Over the summer holidays, the school has undertaken several projects to improve facilities for its students which we were delighted to show the Minister. We were also able to show the Uniform Recycling Scheme our school runs, as well as the new Sixth Form Leadership Team.

Those students who have excelled in their topics the last year were also congratulated by Mr Lewis for their fantastic achievements. These students will be recognised at Thursday night’s Annual Award Ceremony.

We thank Mr Lewis for his visit, which we enjoyed greatly.
