The Thrive Approach

Congratulations to our Thrive Practitioners.

What does it take to develop healthy, happy, confident pupils who are ready and open to learning? Recent advances in neuroscience, attachment theory and child development have provided some of the answers to this question.

The Thrive Approach draws on insights from these fields to provide a powerful way of working with pupils that supports optimal social and emotional development. In addition, the Approach equips us to work in a different targeted way with pupils who may struggle with difficult life events to help them re-engage with life and learning.

The Thrive approach also uses online tools to support our practitioners in learning about the emotional and social development relevant to a pupil’s age. Thrive also helps us to understand a pupil’s challenging and troubling behaviour as communication.

Every child with Thrive has an individual plan stating activities and strategies to support them. Our Thrive Practitioners use this plan to monitor and assess the pupil’s progress at regular intervals.

We would like to congratulate Lisa Chorley and Cath Maxworthy for successfully qualifying as Thrive Practitioners in the summer and wish them all the best working with our pupils on The Thrive Approach.
