GCSE Results, 2014 - The Best Ever!

I am delighted that Year 11 pupils have achieved our best ever set of GCSE results. All pupils have gained passes and 79% have 5 or more qualifications at grades A* to C. In addition, over 50 % of the pupils are now passing both English and Maths GCSE with a grade C or better. This is a fantastic reflection on the commitment of pupils and the excellent teaching our pupils are receiving from staff. The support of each family is essential and much appreciated.

We have high expectations for our pupils and it is to their credit that they have responded so positively. Our congratulations to everyone, in particular to Zoe Brooks and Joseph Isingrini who gained 16 A* and A grades between them. Also to Jack Davidson, Sophie Jenkins, Zac Byard, Hannah Davies, Matthew Easton, Rachel Burrows, Chloe Hooper, George Trilloe, Anne Marie Wattley, Farah Iqbal, Lewis Hooper, Megan Watts, Tristan Horton, Teigan Jones, Georgia Landeg, Kara Kennedy, Katie Roberts, Holly Simmons, Victoria Williams, Lowri Wilkshire and Cristyn Woodman who all achieved a significant number of excellent grades.

Mr Peter James, Chair of the Governing Body would like to congratulate all pupils and staff for all their effort and hard work in making this the most successful year ever – it is very much deserved. These results prove what talent we have at Pontypridd High School and all staff are looking forward to welcoming such well qualified and committed pupils back to our Sixth Form on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Thank you to those pupils who are leaving to take up a place in College or start a new job. Our best wishes for a successful future beyond Pontypridd High.

Following such similar success in our A Level results where everyone has been able to progress to their chosen university or college course, this is hugely encouraging for the new school year ahead. Well done everyone!
