Pontypridd High School Construction students suspend their education for one day to assist in the largest Give & Gain day project that RCT Homes have ever carried out. The students designed and constructed the planters for Valleys Kids Community Centre, along with both primary schools in Penygraig. The whole Community of Penygraig supported by volunteers from various businesses and professions joined forces to regenerate Penygraig shopping centre. The volume of work was extraordinary which included painting of the shop fronts, planting flower beds on the the main roundabout and both primary schools had painting done to the gates, railings and fencing.

Steve Jones, Head of Construction commented that this was a huge achievement to complete such a large scale project in just one day. Our school students worked extremely hard and were an inspiration to all young people. Our three construction girls, Rebecca Livock, Jodie Price and Courtney Hale did us proud where they impressed everyone by wheel barrowing large quantities of soil around the site to fill the planters. Our enthusiastic, highly skilled, hardworking students helped to make this project a success.
