3 pupils in particular had something to smile about on Wednesday 11^th February 2015. They were chosen to represent Glamorgan Valleys in the Welsh Schools’ Cross Country Championships held at Brecon. The pupils concerned were: Annaleigh Hall, Year 7, Taylor Davies and Callum Abbruzzese both in Year 9. They were selected as they had achieved one of the top ten places in a county event held earlier this year.  It was a particularly cold afternoon but they all braved their county vests to run their courses as well as they could. Both Annaleigh and Taylor were hampered by injuries but did so well and made Mrs Samuel-Jones so proud. The biggest smile of the day came from Callum Abbruzzese who achieved a phenomenal 17^th place out of such a talented group of runners. He only marginally missed a place to represent Wales in this event to be held in Dublin in March. He did do enough, however to receive a Bronze medal for his participation in the Junior Boys Team Event. Third in Wales Callum – awesome!

Well done to all 3 who represented not just the school but Glamorgan Valleys and ultimately themselves so brilliantly.
