Pontypridd High School GCSE Results 2020

Given the exceptional circumstances everyone has faced in recent months I would like to congratulate each of our students who have achieved success with their GCSE results. It is testament to the commitment of all students that such a high standard has been achieved by so many. Your achievements at the end of this Year 11 are highly credible and much deserved.

Such positive outcomes reflect the high expectations we have for our students and our congratulations to Hannah Okon, Aiden Pritchard, Gemma Jones, Kate Baynham and Lucy Norman who all achieved ten or more A* and A grades. To Joseph Barnes, Aimee Davies, Harry Davies, Ella Furmage, Thomas Graham, Ella Tanner, Jenna Coley and Jessica Haven-Brown  who passed with  seven or more A* and A grades. There were also many other fantastic achievers at A* and A grade and very well done to each of you. Congratulations also to Julia Truszewska, Audi Silsuktipapsorn, Chloe Foggarty, Morgan Frowen, Alec Haslam, Oliwia Urbanska and Ellis Holvey who all achieved a significant number of excellent grades to reward their efforts.

We are also delighted with the positive outcomes achieved by many of our students in Year 10 who have completed exams as part of different GCSE courses. They now have a very firm foundation from which to start Year 11 and the confidence to know they are capable of achieving success in the year ahead.

For Year 11 students to achieve such fantastic results is a very positive reflection on themselves and the excellent teaching and support they have received from all staff. The support of each family for our work is essential and as always it is very much appreciated. Mr Bill Davies, Chair of the Governing Body would also like to congratulate every student on gaining these GCSE qualifications and thank staff for their effort and hard work.

As a school, we are as proud of our students this year as in any previous year. Indeed this group of young people has been challenged in a way that no others have experienced before them. In this way, they should consider themselves unique in every positive sense of the word.

I trust everyone will now be able to look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead and we very much look forward to welcoming such well qualified and committed students back to our Sixth Form on September 2nd.
