GCSE Results, 2015 - The Best Ever!

I am delighted that Year 11 pupils have achieved our best ever set of GCSE results. All pupils have achieved qualifications and 93% have 5 or more have been passed at grades A* to C with an increasing number of those at grades A* and A. Significantly we have increased the % and number of pupils who are passing a minimum of 5 GCSE passes at Grade C and above including English and Maths. This is a key indicator of school performance and is a fantastic reflection on the commitment of pupils and the excellent teaching they are receiving from staff. The support of each family is essential and much appreciated.

We have high expectations for our pupils and it is to their credit that they have responded so positively. Our congratulations to everyone, in particular to Sarah Lethbridge and Ben Gooding who both achieved 10A* and A grades and to Simon Humphries, Mali Griffiths and Maddy Goodson who gained 27 A* and A grades between them. Also to Kiera Black, Morgan Attley, Daniel Shoemark, Molly Stubbs, Brianna Griffiths, Rhys Lacey, Jocelyn Churchill, Olivia Davies, Bethan Evans and Angel Lock and who all achieved a significant number of excellent grades, including many A* and A’s.

Mr Peter James, Chair of the Governing Body would like to congratulate all  pupils and staff for their effort and hard work in making this the most successful year ever – it is very much deserved. These results prove what talent we have at Pontypridd High School and all staff are looking forward to welcoming such well qualified and committed pupils back to our Sixth Form on Wednesday, September 3rd.

Following such similar success in our A Level results this is hugely encouraging for the new school year ahead. Well done everyone!
