GCSE Results 2018

Congratulations to all pupils receiving their GCSE Results today!

Congratulations to all our students who have achieved success in their examinations. We are very pleased that our results have improved in all performance indicators. Those achieving a minimum of 5 A* to C grades has risen by 3% as has those achieving 5 or more A* and A grades. Five students gained at least 10 A* and A grades each which is a wonderful achievement.

We have high expectations for our pupils and it is to their credit that they have responded so positively to the challenge we set for them. Our congratulations to Trudy Pounder, Liam Hooper, Tom Penikett, Seren Hopkins and Usman Khalid who all achieved 10 or more A* and A grades each. In addition, Billie-Mae Cox, Ciaran Evans, Aled Moore, Abby Watkins, Cara Watkins, William Thomas, Ellie Davis, Scott Edmunds, Kirsty George, Megan Groves, Isobelle Preston, Oliwier Rogula and Emilie Williams who all achieved a significant number of excellent grades, including many A* and A’s. We should also mention Molly Jones, Josh Wismann, Jarrad Baker, Michael Bowen, Lewis Creedon, Harry Langworthy, Thomas Mapp, Keiran Smith and Luke Woodman amongst many others who also achieved great results. Be very proud of yourselves.

We are also delighted with the positive outcomes achieved by our students in Year 10 who have completed GCSE courses. They now have a very firm foundation from which to start Year 11 and the confidence to know they are capable of achieving at this more challenging level.

For so many to achieve such fantastic results is a very positive reflection on the commitment of students and the excellent teaching they are receiving from staff. The support of each family is essential and as always it is very much appreciated.

Mr Bill Davies, Chair of the Governing Body would like to thank all pupils and staff for their effort and hard work and congratulate everyone on gaining these GCSE qualifications.

These results prove what talented pupils we have at Pontypridd High and we very much look forward to welcoming such well qualified and committed pupils back to our Sixth Form on September 4th.
