Gold Medal For Super Swimmer Jacob Cook

Well done to Year 10 pupil Jacob Cook who took part in the recent Swim Wales Long Course Easter National Championships at the National pool in Swansea.  Jacob who managed three podium finishes secured a gold medal in the 200 breaststroke smashing his long course personal best in the heats on his way to the final.  Jacob who swims for The City of Cardiff Swimming Club was also a member of the 4 x 200m freestyle relay who won a bronze medal at the event.

The Nationals which should have taken place over 4 days during the Easter break came to a sudden halt when a freak accident caused the pool to be closed for health and safety reasons and the remaining two days of the competition were deferred until 18 & 19 April.  The wait was worthwhile for Jacob as he secured his third podium finish in the 100 breaststroke, finishing second he once again swam a personal best and along with his fellow Cardiff team-mates managed a clean sweep of medals.
