On Saturday 10 lucky young people went on a trip to the clothes show live in Birmingham with E3+.  The trip was attended by young people who signed up to the celeb style fashion course which is starting in January 2014.  The students attended the fashion show to give them an insight into the world of fashion and to gather research and inspiration for their own designs.  The group had a fantastic time at the event doing lots of shopping, watched “Kingsland Road” and a bizarre swimwear dance show! The group also enjoyed getting to know their tutor Caroline Thomas who works as a freelance Costume designer and tutor for Coleg y Cymoedd.  The group were set tasks all day and captured their favourite designs on their mobile phones ready to use in their workshops.  There are just 4 places left on the Celeb Style Fashion Course which will be starting on a Friday next term.  Contact the e3+ office for more details.

dodgeOn the 18th October five pupils from Pontypridd High School took part in the 5x60 SEN Dodgeball competition.  The competition was held at Rhondda Fach Sports Centre.
Adam Taylor, Ryan Arthur, Sam Griffiths, Lucy O’neil and William Mansell all stepped up to the dodgeball challenge and came 4th out of 11 schools that attended. This was a fantastic result.  In between matches they also involved themselves in wheelchair basketball. To which all pupils found tremendously enjoyable and fun. Within the competition they all worked extremely hard and won 4 games therefore reaching the semi-finals. Unfortunately they lost out in the semis but the effort shown during the game was fantastic. Each individual showed their competitiveness and compassion for a sporting challenge and their efforts massively paid off.
A special mention for Adam Taylor who got incredibly involved and gained more confidence as the day went on.
A fantastic day was held by all and all students are keen to be involved in the next competition being held.
