wbdFormer Head Boy and third year Cambridge student Bruno Sussat came into school this week to speak to a group of year 11 pupils about university life and what Cambridge has to offer. Pupils were given an insider’s guide to studying at university and in particular Oxbridge, and Bruno dispelled a number of myths that Cambridge University is a place only the privately educated can attend.

Thank you Bruno for your time and we hope that in the future more pupils from PHS will apply to Oxbridge.

Snow in the Brecon Beacons
Written by Mr Axe
Wednesday, 05 February 2014 10:15

snowPupils from year 7 and 8 enjoyed a snowy walk in the Brecon Beacons on Tuesday 5th January. The covering of snow above 500m made the mountains look particularly spectacular and the sunshine was an added bonus. Krzysztof Plaza, Shelby Jones, Tanwa Hasachai and Mitchell Evans walked to the trig point on Fan Frynach (629m above sea level) near the beautiful crags of Craig Cerrig Gleisiad. There was a bitterly cold wind blowing so we had to keep moving to keep warm. Well done to the pupils and thank you to Mr. Gronow for coming along and enabling the trip to go ahead. Anyone in year 7, 8 and 9 who would like to take part in a walk in the Brecon Beacons should speak to Ms. M. Taylor in the E3+ office.
