Well done to Dylan Richards from Year 7 who entered Ponty's fun run yesterday to raise money for velindre hospital.
He ran 2k around Ynysangharad Park finishing in first place.
Amongst the runners were children and adults (and his little brother who is in year 4!) Dylan managed to complete the run in just 8 minutes. Fantastic Dylan! and all for a great cause too. |

Pontypridd High School celebrated the "Class of 2013" Record of Achievement Assembly on Friday. It was an emotional time when students from Year 11, along with their reg teachers and Mrs Jenkins their Head of Year, looked back on their progress through the years. There were smiles, laughter and a few tears shed as the reg teachers each reflected on their time with their class supporting them along their learning pathways.
Thank you for the great musical performances from:
Ben, Ryan, Liam, Fleur, Danielle, Cory, Hannah and Bethany.
Mrs Jenkins said ."What an emotional day yesterday was - so sad to say goodbye to Year 11 but happy at the same time ,they will always be special to me and I wish them all the best in the future. "
We hope everyone has a great half term break and we look forward to returning to school on Monday 3rd June.
Good luck to everyone sitting exams when we return! |

It has been a very busy year for the Mathematics Department. Many of our students have been revising hard for external exams. We have run revision sessions after school, on Saturday mornings and in the Easter holidays. At this stage of the year, 54% of our students have already achieved a grade C at GCSE. The turn out for the revision sessions has been excellent and I am sure that those students who sit their exam in June will also be successful. We wish them good luck!
Please read on for more exciting news from the Maths Department.

Abandoned Primates from all over the world are being cared for at a monkey sanctuary run by Jan and Graham Garen, they gave up everything to Care for these beautiful primates, sadly without Jan and Grahams sanctuary many of them would otherwise have faced death. They rely on donations and sponsorship to fund the sanctuary. It’s a great place to visit. Pontypridd High School Construction students have given the sanctuary some much needed support by putting their building skills to good use to improve the primates’ habitat by adapting and extending the enclosures to give them a better quality of life...
